Steel Framing System (SFS)
Injectaclad can be installed within Steel Framing System (SFS) buildings to remediate missing and/or defective cavity fire barriers.
Installed within the clear cavity void, Injectaclad can be introduced regardless of whether the SFS has a sheathing board and can be installed where PIR insulation is fitted directly to the SFS, again with or without sheathing board.
Within Steel Framing System buildings (SFS) Injectaclad can be installed horizontally, vertically and around openings such as windows and doors.
It is designed and tested to work with existing insulation left within the cavity, alleviating the need to remove the façade in its entirety.
Recent test data has resulted in Injectaclad being able to be installed to fill the clear cavity void between the internal face of the external masonry and the SFS, which could have any PIR thickness ranging from 25mm to 100mm fitted directly against it without sheathing board.
Horizontal Installation
Generally, the Injectaclad installation would be in line with an existing floor slab, to create compartmentation along this line.
Injectaclad is installed to create a continual cavity fire barrier between the inside face of the external masonry and the floor slab. Where shelf angles or similar brackets prevent installation of Injectaclad against this line, the new compartment line could be created against either the head or sole track. In this instance Injectaclad would be installed directly against the SFS line.
If insulation runs in front of the Injectaclad installation line this remains in place and only the void between the inside face of the external masonry and the insulation is filled.

Vertical Installation
Generally, the Injectaclad installation would be in line with the party wall, to create compartmentation along this line.
Injectaclad is installed to create a continual cavity fire barrier between the inside face of the external masonry and the SFS party wall construction, either with or without sheathing board installed to its front face.
If insulation runs in front of the party wall this remains in place and only the void between the inside face of the external masonry and the insulation is filled.

Installation Around Openings
Injectaclad can be installed to create a cavity fire barrier around openings, such as existing windows and doors, without the need to remove and reinstall them. When utilising Injectaclad to create a cavity fire barrier in such circumstances the existing opening is ‘picture framed’.
Generally, horizontal installation takes place both above and below the opening before vertical installations take place either side of the opening, abutting to the previously installed horizontal lines of Injectaclad. All Injectaclad installations in this scenario need to be aligned to vertical and horizontal studs.
