Timber Frame

Injectaclad can be installed within timber framed buildings to remediate missing and/or defective cavity fire barriers. Installed within the clear cavity void, Injectaclad can be introduced where the timber framed building has a sheathing board of 9mm OSB or thicker, or a A1 Rated weather defence board.

Injectaclad has also been installed against SIP Panels, forming a cavity fire barrier between the internal face of masonry up to the SIP Panel.

Within timber framed and SIP Panel constructed buildings Injectaclad can be installed horizontally, vertically and around openings such as windows and doors.

It is designed and tested to work with existing insulation left within the cavity, alleviating the need to remove the façade in its entirety.

Timber to timber testing has been undertaken, meaning that Injectaclad can be installed between timber external and internal skins, down to 9mm OSB Board.

Horizontal Installation

Generally, the Injectaclad installation would be in line with an existing timber floor joists, to create compartmentation along this line.

Injectaclad is installed to create a continual cavity fire barrier between the inside face of the external masonry and the floor joists.

If insulation runs in front of the floor joists this remains in place and only the void between the inside face of the external masonry and the insulation is filled.

Vertical Installation

Generally, the Injectaclad installation would be in line with the party wall, to create compartmentation along this line.

Injectaclad is installed to create a continual cavity fire barrier between the inside face of the external masonry and the party wall construction, which will have either an OSB Sheathing Board or Weather Defence Board installed to its front face.

If insulation runs in front of the party wall this remains in place and only the void between the inside face of the external masonry and the insulation is filled.

Installation Around Openings

Injectaclad can be installed to create a cavity fire barrier around openings, such as existing windows and doors, without the need to remove and reinstall them.  When utilising Injectaclad to create  a cavity fire barrier in such circumstances the existing opening is ‘picture framed’.

Generally, horizontal installation takes place both above and below the opening before vertical installations take place either side of the opening, abutting to the previously installed horizontal lines of Injectaclad.  All Injectaclad installations in this scenario need to be aligned to a vertical stud or horizontal joist.

For details on the installation process see - Installation Guide

Injectaclad is the world’s first remediation system for missing and/or defective cavity fire barriers to be retrospectively installed using a pumped system, alleviating the need for full scale façade removal.

By not removing the external façade coupled with the speed of installation, often undertaken via MEWPs rather than requiring full scaffolding, Injectaclad is a cost effective and non-invasive option to a significant problem on high rise buildings and other housing stock across the UK and further afield.
